Rollin' Recmobile

Rollin’ Recmobile

Fun is about to roll into Redmond Park! A van with lettering printed on its side, "Let's Play - Rollin' Recmobile"

This summer, the Rollin’ Recmobile will take to the streets to bring recreational activities to Wellington Heights. The van, loaded to the top with recreation equipment and games, brings staff to lead activities every Monday morning through August 10. The van also has a WIFI hot spot that you can use during park visits.

The program provides flexibility to offer youth recreation activities while following health guidelines for COVID-19. For the first two weeks, kids can pick up activity kits they can do with members of their household in the park or at home. They will also receive a free meal at 11:30 a.m. during morning stops, and a free snack during afternoon and evening stops. WIFI will be available to use in the park during visits. Families are encouraged to wear masks while attending Rollin’ Recmobile activities.

Ongoing schedule, programming and weather updates are available at cityofcr.com/crrecmobile. Updates will also be provided through CR News Now text alerts. Sign up to recieve text alerts.

The Rollin’ Recmobile is provided through funding from the City of Cedar Rapids, Cedar Rapids Park Foundation, Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation, and Cedar Rapids Area Kiwanis. Organizations working in cooperation with the Parks and Recreation Department on the program include the Cedar Rapids Boys and Girls Club, Cedar Rapids Community School District, Cedar Rapids Fire Department and Cedar Rapids Public Library.
